2-players strategy game MAIDANIA: “UA for EU vs. Dictator”
Ukraine needs you
to participate in our “Euro-revolution” and demonstrate how people
from all over the world support Ukrainians in these hard times!
This “revolutionary-intellectual“ BOARD GAME is dedicated to the so called „Euromaidan“, pro-European Union protests in Ukraine these days.
A betrayal of national interests in Vilnius and then in Moscow summits and a threat of dictatorship resulted in joining of thousands of Ukrainians at the Maidan Nezalezhnosti (Independence Square) in Kyiv. In retort the Kremlin-backed, mired in corruption regime of V.Yanukovych sent against the civil protesters (including children) the notorious Special Purpose Police Unit “Berkut” known for its brutality yet against the opposition and also during Orange Revolution-2004.
But the patriots still struggle in Maidans in Kyiv and in other Ukrainian cities – for justice and democracy, for firmly pro-western course and European choice of Ukraine, the biggest European country!
You can play for the leaders of Ukrainian opposition (Yulia Tymoshenko, Vitaliy Klitschko and others) and also for “casual” Ukrainians: a doctor, a student, a driver, а worker etc.
But life is more then just a game - second player must play for the berkuts.
Components of the Print-and(-Cut-and)-Play package of MAIDANIA
File Maidania_engl.pdf to print and cut:
- 1 square game board with crossword-like walls;
- 12 triangle gray “berkut” pieces/cards;
- 22 square yellow “protesters” pieces/cards with their names/jobs;
- 28 rectangle red cards=”tents”(“намет” - “namet” in Ukrainian) with the democratic and patriotic slogans such as “EU-Integration“ and “Democracy“ in which the protesters can sleep and hide from the berkuts.
